Maple Tahini Cookies by Samantha Coffin of The Wellness Rewind

Are you looking for a totally new cookie? Ditch the chocolate and grab the tahini and sesame seeds! Sesame seeds are an incredible food that is rich in fiber, plant based protein and has many potential health benefits including balancing your hormones.

These 🍁 Maple Tahini cookies 🍪 are one of my absolute favorites and I hope you love them too! They are gluten free, dairy free, grain free and made with real maple syrup! If you are looking for a fast cookie, these are them! You can whip them up and have them in your belly in less than half an hour.

I prefer small batch baking and this recipe is just that. This recipe yields 6 big cookies or 12 little cookies. I honestly prefer the smaller ones, yet the photo shown here are the larger ones. If you are feeding a crowd of hungry sesame lovers, just double or even quadruple the ingredients!

Ingredients:

  • 3 T sesame seeds

  • 3/4 cup Almond flour

  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

  • 3 T real maple syrup

  • 3 T you tahini

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla or almond extract

⠀The Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350° and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicon mat.

  • Place the sesame seeds in a pie plate.

  • Mix the rest of the ingredients together in a small bowl until well incorporated.

  • Make .5T to 1 T balls of dough and roll each in the sesame seeds.

  • Put on balls of dough on your cookie sheet and flatten them into 1/4-inch-thick rounds. Give them some space, about 2 inches apart. These cookies will not expand much at all while cooking, but giving space is always helpful. 😉

  • Bake the cookies for about 8 minutes for small and 12 minutes for large cookie, or until the bottoms are golden.⠀

Let the cookies cool completely on the pan and then enjoy! Let us know what you think!
